University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP) is a private university with a tradition of excellence in the health sciences. It was founded in 1821 as the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the first college of pharmacy in North America. The University maintains a vibrant graduate program in health policy and an institute for health policy research.

Fall 2007 Speaker Series Special Lecture: Naoki Ikegami, MD, MA On Mon., Oct. 1 from 3 - 4:20 Prof. Naoki Ikegami of Keio University in Tokyo will speak on innovation in the Japanese health care system. He is an internationally renowned scholar on Japanese health care. The talk will be in Wilson 205.

With an eye towards the symposium held in March of 2007, the Spring semesters speaker series was focused on drug safety. Key speakers included faculty from the Department of Health Policy and Public Health as well as the Pharmaceutical Business Department.
In continuing our dedication to the community and the crusade for improved health care, this past Fall's speaker series was dedicated to current research in Health Policy being conducted by faculty and friends of USP. Speakers included members of Thomas Jefferson University, Temple University, and the Center for Applied Research among others.
